How much weight can the Hitch Hiker™ Dog Backpack carry?
The Hitch Hiker Backpack can safely carry up to 40 pounds!
What size dogs does the kit work for?
The Hitch Hiker is available in three sizes - XXS, XS, and S. Sizing is based on your dog’s girth measurement around the widest part of the ribcage. For a quick guide to measuring check out this video.
What size human is this suitable for?
The Hitch Hiker backpack is designed for a comfortable fit on a wide range of body shapes and sizes, thanks to its adjustable torso length, padded straps, and waist belt. The hip belt accommodates waist sizes from 21 to 58 inches (53–149 cm).
Why is it only available in sizes XXS - Small?
We carefully considered what the average person can comfortably carry for extended periods. Through extensive testing, we found that 40 pounds is the ideal upper limit for maintaining both stability and ease of use. Beyond this weight, the backpack becomes harder to manage and less stable. Our goal is to strike the perfect balance between capacity, comfort, and overall usability, ensuring the best possible experience!
