What’s the difference between the two life jackets? Which one is right for my pup?
The Float Coat™ Life Jacket is our go-to PFD for dogs who love exploring in and around the water! Whether it’s paddling on the lake, swimming at the beach, or floating down the river. It is designed to support a dog’s natural swimming motion and provides optimal buoyancy without restricting mobility, ensuring comfort and confidence in the water.
The Confluence Life Jacket takes canine flotation to the next level with an elevated fit and additional bonus features! It is equipped with an additional low-profile handle on the back, complementing the top handle to offer extra lift when helping your pup out of the water. Additionally, the reinforced tow loop on the back provides a secure attachment point for a leash, adding additional security and versatility for water adventures!
Does one provide more floatation than the other?
Nope! Both styles of our life jackets will provide the same buoyancy for your pup on the water.
Can these be used in all bodies of water?
Yes! Both the Float Coat and Confluence Life Jacket are designed for use in all bodies of water, providing buoyancy and support to keep your pup comfortable and confident on any aquatic adventure.
Is there a weight rating?
While we do not assign a weight rating to our Float Coat sizes, this type of flotation device is comparable to a Level III rating for a human PFD (personal flotation device), which is also sized based on chest measurement, and not weight, for adults.
The two bottom flaps of my Float Coat don’t overlap - is that okay?
Absolutely! Depending on your pup’s shape, the belly panels of the Float Coat™ may not overlap, but rest assured, this won’t affect the buoyancy or support it provides. If you are unsure about the fit, our Customer Experience Team is happy to help! Feel free to send photos to bark@ruffwear.com, and we’ll gladly assist with fit and sizing recommendations.
